If you are arrested for DUI, promptly hiring the right DUI Lawyer to handle your case is the most important decision you will make.

IF YOU OR YOUR ATTORNEY FAILS TO CONTACT THE DMV WITHIN 10 DAYS OF YOUR DUI ARREST, DMV WILL SUSPEND YOUR LICENSE

Make certain that any Lawyer you hire to represent you will:

  • Provide a free, in-person consultation to go over the unique facts of your situation and the options you will likely face as your DUI case proceeds.
  • Handle each phase of your case personally.  Many law firms will put an Associate Attorney in charge of your case, and the Attorney you thought you had hired will never be seen again. You should also beware of Law Firms and Lawyers from outside the area in which you case will be heard. These Lawyers typically never actually work on your case, but merely subcontract it out to the lowest bidder.
  • Continue to meet with you in person and take your phone calls as your case proceeds. You will inevitably have questions, and hiring an Attorney who will meet with you in person to answer your questions, and not refer you to a junior associate, a paralegal, or a secretary, is a must.
  • Be completely honest with you about your options – many Attorneys will make overly optimistic promises regarding the great result you’ll get if you hire them but then, once they’ve received payment, the truth becomes apparent and your case promptly falls apart.
  • Negotiate with the Prosecutor to get the best possible offer in your case, but nevertheless be ready to take your case to a Jury Trial if necessary. DUI Attorneys who can’t or won’t do trials are not able to get the same results as lawyers who will fight for you and take on the Cops and Prosecution.
